Server rules.
These rules apply to everyone on the 5th Marine Regiment Squad server. Admin instructions must be followed immediately, and disputes are settled in Discord after the match, not in game.
General rules
How everyone is expected to behave on the server.
Fundamentals
- Primary language is English.
- You may speak another language in a squad, as long as the language you're speaking is specified in your squad name.
- Do not impersonate server staff.
- Discriminatory language is strictly forbidden.
- Remain respectful toward all players and admins.
- Obscene, vulgar, or threatening language is prohibited.
- Do not mic distort at any time during matches, voting, and staging.
Cheats, bots, hacks, or exploits
- Taking unfair advantage, including using third-party software, is not allowed and will be severely punished.
- Do not exploit, glitch, or cheat. This includes placing radios inside other deployables or glitching them into unreachable locations.
- Ghosting is considered cheating.
Trolling, griefing, and asset wasting
- Intentional teamkilling is strictly prohibited, including revenge teamkills.
- Do not waste assets. Asset wasting is the malicious use of any asset that negatively impacts your team.
- All players must play the objective.
Advertising
- Advertising other servers or clans is not allowed, unless you're a listed partner clan.
Main camping
Where the safe zone starts and ends, and what you may not do near it.
Main base / safe zone
- Combat in or out of the Safe Zone is prohibited.
- The Safe Zone is defined as the 400m outer circle of the FOB Creation Marker placed over the team's Main Base flag.
- The Safe Zone shrinks to the inner circle if the active capture point is within 650m of Main.
Main camping
- Do not place mines or emplacements within 500m of the enemy Main Base.
- Preventing the enemy from leaving their Main Base is considered Main Camping.
- Do not shoot into the enemy Safe Zone.
- Do not enter the enemy Safe Zone.
- If a vehicle is returning to the enemy main, it can be engaged as you are not camping its exit.
Exploiting main
- Do not engage the enemy and then retreat back into Main Base protection.
- Do not use radios, mortars, vehicles, or mortar carriers directly outside Main Base.
- “Directly outside Main” means within 100m of the active Safe Zone.
- Do not scout from the Safe Zone.
Admin discretion
- Admins may tell you to move away from Main Base at any time.
- Admins may shrink the Main Base at any time for any reason.
- Admins may order you to dig down any emplacements at any time.
- These actions are used to keep the game fair. If you disagree, join the Discord and open a support ticket.
Vehicles
Claiming, crewing, and returning the team's assets.
Vehicle claiming
- Squad names must identically match the vehicle being claimed (e.g., BTR-82A, M1A1. T90 is wrong, T-90A is correct).
- Generic names like TANK, ARMOUR, LOGI, or CMD are not allowed.
- If a squad is named after a vehicle, the squad size should not exceed vehicle seating capacity.
- To claim multiple vehicles, include “X” or “#” and the number (e.g., M1A2 X2).
- Correct names must include all spaces or dashes.
- Capitalization does not matter.
- If multiple squads have the correct name, the claim goes to the squad created first and waiting in Main.
- If you do not have a squad ready, other squads with the name claim may take the vehicle.
- If you are not waiting in Main for your claimed vehicle, it is free for anyone to take.
- If an Admin orders you to RTB, you must comply.
- Abandoning vehicles without a valid reason is considered asset wasting.
- Vehicles must be returned to Main, a FOB, or a Repair Station when no longer in use.
- Exceptions apply if the vehicle is destroyed or inaccessible due to combat.
- If a vehicle squad becomes commander they have the claim until the vehicle is destroyed.
Vehicle squads
- Vehicles requiring a Crewman kit must have at least two operators.
- If your secondary operator dies, disconnects, or leaves the vehicle, you must return to Main or a FOB.
- Mechanized Infantry is allowed. There are no restrictions, as long as the vehicle is correctly claimed and operated with at least 2 crewman.
Helicopters
- Helicopter squad names must match the helicopter being claimed (e.g., CH-146, Mi-8).
- Generic names like HELI, AIR SUPPORT, or CAS are not allowed.
- Helicopter ramming is strictly prohibited.
- If you cannot fly, do not fly. Poor flying is considered asset wasting. You must have adequate experience prior to using any helicopter in a live match.
Squad leading
What is expected of squad leaders and the commander.
Squad leader role
- Squad Leaders must have and use a microphone. Not using your microphone is a punishable offense.
- If new, inform your squad and command. “NEW SL” is recommended as a squad name.
- You must use your microphone for command responses, enemy reports, movement updates, and plans.
- Squad Leaders must equip a Squad Leader kit.
- Squad Leaders may kick members for any reason.
- No squadbaiting (creating a squad only to give someone else SL).
- Squad Leaders must work as a team.
- Squad Leaders may not mute other Squad Leaders.
- Squad Leaders are responsible for their Radio and HAB placements.
- Command Chat must be kept clear for command communications only.
Commander role
- The Commander must actively participate with the goal of winning.
- This includes consistent communication with all Squad Leaders.
- Commanders must have experience using command abilities to ensure success.
- Commanders must not use assets on friendly forces. This is considered asset wasting.
- Commanders must have experience with the role of commander before signing themselves up to the role.
Squad size
- To lock an Infantry Squad you need to have at least five (5) players inside your squad.
- Vehicle Squads may be locked with enough players to operate it properly (e.g. Helo 1, Armor 2).
Seeding rules
Getting the server to full, without driving people away.
General rules
- The entire point of seeding is to get the server to maximum capacity, not live.
- Refrain from doing things that will force people to leave, such as causing intentional nuisance.
- Superfobbing is allowed and encouraged.
- No weapons emplacements are allowed.
- Blocking active spawn points is prohibited.
- FOB hunting is strictly prohibited. This also applies when the server goes live (60+ players).
Exploiting rules
Loopholes are not a defence.
Grey areas
- These rules are not perfect. Some players will find loopholes or exploits. If an admin identifies one, they may intervene.
- If you disagree with an admin action, open a support ticket within the Discord. Do not ignore or argue with the admin.
Disclaimer
Read this part too - it covers everything the rules above do not.
- Administration has the final say.
- Rules are subject to change.
- Ignorance of the rules is not an excuse.
- Players are responsible for knowing and following all server rules at all times.
- Admin instructions must be followed immediately.
- Failure to comply may result in removal from the server.
- Admin decisions are final during live matches.
- Disputes must be taken to the Admin team after the game, not argued in-game.
- Exploiting grey areas or loopholes will be treated the same as breaking the rules.
- If something is clearly against the spirit of fair play, do not do it.
- Toxicity, harassment, or repeated negative behaviour may result in removal even if no specific rule is broken.
- We prioritize a positive environment over technicalities.
- By playing on this server, you agree to these rules and any future updates.
